Envy Introduces Revolutionary Wound Care Products

Envy International is the sole representative of Biocore Inc., a US based company for marketing its revolutionary collagen based wound healing products, Medifil and Skintemp in India. As a result of this alliance which came through in March last year, Indian patients now have two very effective products which ensure almost complete healing of wounds. ranging from minor cuts and burns to large unhealable and chronic ones.

Biocore's Collagen based products are excellent when used on open wounds, Diabetic wounds, Chronic leg ulcers and pressure sores, burns urological and gynecological surgery, reconstructive surgery and abdominal surgeries. They provide a  substantial reduction in the healing time.

The technology for Kollagen which was developed by Dr Manoj Jain, CEO Biocore (USA), has been accepted in the worldwide as the wound care technology of the future.

Collagen is a protein present in abundant amounts in the human body and in proper configuration has a vital role to play in the healing of wounds. Collagen is the basic infrastructure which provides structural integrity  to the human body. Biocore's collagen (Trade Mark: Kollagen) technology is the only one which delivers a properly configured collagen directly to the wound. The molecular structure of Biocore's Kollagen (bovine origin), is exactly identical to that of human collagen.

Worldwide, Biocore's Kollagen is being used on over thousands of wounds every year. Kollagen has an efficacy of 95% on wounds which were previously thought to be unhealable. With Biocore's Kollagen, which is more than a superficial dressing material, the wound remains clean and bacterial infection is retarded. No immunological reactions have been observed to occur with this novel product. Hundreds of Indian patients who have used the collagen based products have described the results as `tremendously effective'.

Patients with radiation burns who had undergone various therapies with little success, found almost complete closure of their wounds which had remained open for years together. Cases of gangrene also found tremendous improvement with these products and amputations could be avoided. These products are also a boon to bedsore patients. The biggest advantage of these products is the easy applicablility by both the patient as well as physician.

According to Ms. Neelam Bafna, Director, Envy International,”The remarkable effects of these unique products prompted me to introduce them into the Indian market. No longer will wound patients in India have to suffer or die or lose a limb due to lack of technology. With this product, chronic wounds can be healed, amputations can be prevented, quality of life can be improved and patients' lives can be saved.”

Medifil and Skintemp have been tried by doctors all over the country with very good success rates. Col. Dr Rai of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) has sucessfully conducted a clinical trial on 50 patients at the Command Hospital, Pune. The results of this trial ouline the effectiveness of Skintemp and Medifil when used on open wounds, diabetic wounds, chronic leg ulcers, pressure sores, burns and certain surgeries.

To facilitate use in different types of wounds, Biocore's products are available in three forms: Medifil gel, Medifil particle and Skintemp patch. Priced between Rs. 245 to 600, they are available in different sizes. These products are approved by the FDA in the U.S. as well as the Drug Controller of India.

Envy International, has also launched Wound Care Centres known as `Healing Touch' in strategic locations in and around Mumbai. These centres, operational since June this year, specialise in wound healing with the collagen based products. Another such centre is operational at the Choithram Hospital, Indore. Talks are in progress with hospitals in other cities for setting up similar centres.
